Flowers Feed the Soul
The Holden Beach Beautification Club held its annual Luncheon and Installation of Officers at the Lockwood Folly Pool House. Outgoing President Linda Rast thanked members for their service this year and recognized her Board Members and Committee Chairs. The theme for the year, “Flowers Feed the Soul”, was discussed as Members looked back over the year. Secretary Denise Mirandola recognized new members and presented Dolly Mitchell with a Golden Gardener rose for her 15 years of service and membership in the Club. After hearing from guest Town Mayor Alan Holden, Linda presented the Trowel Award to Vicki Myers and Denise presented the Member of the Year Award to Eve Venters.
Officers for the ’21-’22 year were installed. Denise Mirandola will serve as President, Eve Venters will serve as 1st Vice President, Marlene Barz will serve as 2nd Vice President, and Susan Gibble will serve as 3rd Vice President. Debbie Jancula will be our Secretary and Vicki Myers will serve as Treasurer.
Luncheon Chair Sandie McClellan and her committee of hostesses went with a coastal themed decor utilizing succulents and conch shells. Bennie Hall presented outgoing President Linda Rast with a large succulent display as a thank you for her hard work this year. The Decorations committee handmade the centerpieces which were given as door prizes to lucky attendees.
