New Garden Signs

Holden Beach Beautification Club has installed new signs in Butterfly Garden and Halstead Park.

Located mid-island at the Fire Station, Butterfly Garden was devastated by the flooding from Hurricane Isaias and is scheduled to be refurbished this year. The plants that survived will be supplemented with hearty natives that are more salt tolerant for our pollinators to use.

Halstead Park is mainly used by fishermen because this tiny park features a fishing pier on the ICW. The new sign pays homage to that use with a whimsical fish shape. HBBC replaced the overgrown roses and bedding plants last year with drought-tolerant Bottle Brush bushes and other hearty plants.

Special thanks to HBBC member Pete Schwaiger for installing the signs!
