Master Gardener Gary Coleman with Gina Martin and Diana Hadesty.

Holden Beach Beautification Club welcomed Master Gardener Gary Coleman for a presentation on Raised Bed Vegetable Gardening.  Gary went over the challenges facing gardeners on the beach and how raised beds can help overcome some of the obstacles.

The Spring Field Trip will be to the Brunswick County Botanical Gardens on April 18. There is no charge for the trip.  Contact Diana Hadesty for more information.

The Club is busy preparing for the Plant Sale and Festival.  Plant Sale Chair Pat Schwaiger is asking all club members to donate 10 plants to the sale.  These can be transplants from your garden or purchased.   Come by Becky Greene’s on March 30 at 9:30am to help with Hypertufa pots for the Festival. We will also be selling painted items at the Festival.

Are you signed up for the Wreath Making Workshop March 20th?  If so, please bring wire cutters and scissors.

Next month’s speaker has changed.  We will be hosting interior designer Jennifer Norton who will speak on updating your decor for spring and summer.

Remember to mark your calendar for the May Social, to be held May 10 at Noon at Lockwood Folly.

Hostesses for the March meeting were Janice Schaffer (chair), Jane Ivey, Frannie Pompeii and Vicki Myers.
